Funerals

After a loss of a loved one, the Parish Services Director will contact the family to plan the Funeral Liturgy.  This entails choosing the readings from the Funeral Liturgy Lectionary, choosing the music and gaining information about the deceased so that the Prayers of the Faithful can be composed and Father can incorporate the information into his homily.  Our attempt is to celebrate the life of the deceased in the context of the liturgy by personally composing the Prayers of the Faithful and inviting the family to participate in various aspects of the Liturgy.  This is an opportunity for the family to talk about their loved one which is a cathartic process.  The Parish Services Director attends all Funeral Liturgies so as to guide the family through the Liturgy.
