After the loss of a loved one, the Pastoral Minister for Funerals will contact a member of the family to assist in preparing the Funeral Liturgy. You will be invited to choose readings from Sacred Scripture and to select music. The Pastoral Minister will also ask for a brief history of the deceased person’s life. This enables the priest to incorporate personal items into the homily. It also helps the Parish Minister compose personalized intentions for the Prayer of the Faithful.
Family members are invited to participate in various ministries during the Liturgy. The Pastoral Minister attends all Funeral Liturgies and will guide family members or friends in performing their various ministerial roles. Calvary CemeteryCalvary Cemetery is owned and managed by Nativity BVM Parish. It is located at Orange Street and Highland Avenue, Media, PA. The office for the Cemetery is at the Nativity BVM Rectory and phone is 610-566-0185. The family DOES NOT need to belong to Nativity Parish, but one member must be Catholic.
