Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we approach the end of the school year, we are excited to announce that registration is open for our online Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) for the upcoming academic year.
At Nativity BVM, we believe in the importance of family catechesis as the foundation of Catholic faith instruction. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states, "Family catechesis precedes, accompanies, and enriches other forms of instruction in the faith." We appreciate your crucial role as parents in your children's spiritual journey and aim to support you in teaching them to pray and discover their vocation as children of God.
Our online curriculum has successfully engaged students through asynchronous lessons via videos and readings. Feedback from parents has been overwhelmingly positive, noting that these lessons spark meaningful discussions and foster faith growth at home. Children in this program are better prepared and more enthusiastic about receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation.
We understand the online format can present challenges, especially in keeping up with lessons. To support you, our dedicated PREP staff, Katie Haraburda and Julie Kotsiopoulos, are available to provide guidance on using our curriculum effectively and offer additional resources as needed.
We will continue organizing gatherings for students preparing for First Reconciliation and First Communion, ensuring they receive the necessary preparation. Our Family Fellowship Ministry events offer opportunities for socialization and community building centered around spiritual practices such as Mass, praying the Rosary, and Stations of the Cross. Additionally, we will have a PREP Directory that families in the same grade can use to communicate with one another (opt-in on registration form).
Your influence on your child's spiritual life and faith formation is irreplaceable. By regularly attending Mass and participating in our religious education program and family events, you demonstrate the profound significance of a God-centered life to your children.
Please complete the online registration form by September 10, 2024. If you have any questions or need assistance, contact Katie at [email protected] or 610-566-0185.
Thank you for your commitment to your child's spiritual growth and for entrusting Nativity BVM Parish with their religious education and sacrament preparation. We look forward to another enriching year of faith formation together.
May God's blessings be with you and your family.
Yours in Christ,
Father Bell
