This is Not a Request for Funds - It's a Call to Action

Our mission is to be the Hands of Christ, whether it be in our jobs, caring for our families and friends, meeting others in our community, or participating in church ministries.

We want to enable all to receive the joy that comes from knowing Jesus.

Will You Be the Hands of Christ?

Perhaps you’re feeling tired and overwhelmed by your family and work responsibilities. Maybe joining a ministry is just too much right now. We’re humbly asking you to start right in the midst of everyday life. You can be the Hands of Christ at work, at home, in the grocery store or the doctor’s office.

    Our Vision for Our Parish

We envision a parish whose members have:

Deepened their faith through spiritual growth opportunities.
Built stronger connections through events and ministries for all ages.
Served our parish family and community in acts of charity.

    Where Do We Start?

You can start to be the Hands of Christ in your everyday life by caring for your family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors. Nativity BVM Parish is here to serve and support you in this. We are focusing on three key areas to nourish our parish family: faith, connections, and service.

In the coming months, we will be announcing new opportunities to deepen faith, come together as a parish family, and serve each other and our community wherever we are. We are excited to share these with you! Our goal is to enable you to be the Hands of Christ, no matter your state in life.

    The Future of Our Parish

Our parish has been participating in an Envisioning Process with Catholic Leadership Institute to help guide us into the future. After prayerful consideration, we have adopted 3 pastoral priorities and 4 values that we want to embrace as a community.

    Our Parish Priorities

    Priority 1: Spiritual Growth
    Priority 2: Parish Engagement
    Priority 3: Communication

    Our Parish Values

    Faithfulness

    We will:
    • Create programs that educate us about the richness of our faith.
    • Equip our parish community to imitate Christ, meeting people where they are.
    • Encourage and inspire others by our words, example, and fellowship to be the Hands of Christ.

    Community

    We will:
    • Encourage each parishioner to greet and acknowledge the presence of those around them at Mass and other parish events.
    • Personally invite parishioners of all ages and walks of life to become involved in the parish.
    • Seek to be instruments of God’s peace, love, and acceptance.

    Responsibility

    We will:
    • Listen.
    • Generously give of our time and offerings in fulfilling our mission to always be the Hands of Christ.
    • Provide volunteer opportunities and take initiative to support the parish staff and ministries.

    Creativity

    We will:
    • Share our ideas for prayerful discernment of issues using the God-given gift of imagination.
    • Be open to ideas from successful programs at other parishes.
    • Search for new ways to engage parishioners of all ages and walks of life to participate in parish sacraments, Hands of Christ service, faith formation, youth programs, and community building opportunities.
